Gather presentation images

Gather presentation images

Process

Your video will be more engaging and compelling when you display an image as each slide’s background instead of bullet points. All slide text is read aloud using text-to-speech in the next step, so we typically don’t display text bullet points in jhVids videos.

Images are typically either a screenshot that the slide describes or a stock photo that underscores the slide’s message.

All images should be at a 16:9 aspect ratio. If you don’t capture images at this aspect ratio, you can always crop them down to 16:9 later when we build the presentation.

If you haven’t already selected the final slide slide images during the storyboarding process, gather those now and store them in a folder for later use.

Tools

Stock photos

If you’re looking for a stock photo as a slide background, the Pexels site offers a large library of free, royalty-free images of decent quality.

If you’re looking for higher quality stock photos and have the budget to purchase licenses for them, Getty Images is another good option.

Screen captures

Snagit

If you want to display a screen capture as a slide background, SnagIt is a great tool for this that is already available to all Jack Henry employees.

Not only does it capture screen images and audio/video, SnagIt makes it easy to mark up your screenshots to highlight certain parts of the screen.

If you don’t already have SnagIt installed, you can download it using the Jack Henry Tech Services app.

Operating system screenshots

If you can’t or don’t want to use SnagIt for screen captures, you can also use your local operating system to capture screenshots.

  • Windows
    • Press Ctrl + PrtScn to capture the screen.
    • The screen capture is copied to the clipboard.
  • MacOs
    • Press Shift + Cmd + 3 to capture the screen.
    • The screen capture is stored as a file on the desktop.

Next step: Record the audio
